One of the rare photos of possibly one of the earliest ACCA Convocation Ceremonies in Singapore back in 2000. It was said that the convocation ceremonies started through the efforts of volunteer members, in particular Mr Robin Chia, who was active in the student council back then.

The ACCA Graduation Ceremonies were co-branded with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS) under the ACCA/ICPAS Joint-Examination Scheme (JES) arrangements. Here’s a photo of ACCA Singapore’s President, Mr Don Ho and then the Vice President of ICPAS, Dr Ernest Kan with the top examination performers.

Mention "I-970" and many members would shudder. Why? Because that’s the examination centre code for Singapore Expo! At a capacity of over 3,000 candidates, this is a formidable-looking place. Just check out the number of students here spending 3 crucial hours of their lives in a bid to conquer the very challenging ACCA examination!

The look of anxiety among the candidates was unmistakeable. Weeks and months of preparation cumulating in this moment of truth. Members who have walked this path would surely dread this part of the journey, but those who made it through eventually would forever relive these memories so fondly and proudly. It was no easy feat, but they have finally made it to be a proud member of ACCA's global professional community!

The “calm before the storm” at the Expo exam center, all ready to welcome the next batch of ACCA students aspiring to become future Chartered Certified Accountants. ACCA Singapore worked with our local partner RELC Examination Bureau to host one of the largest private examinations in Singapore every June and December.

The 2005 Graduation Ceremony saw to yet another batch of 700 new ACCA Affiliates joining the accountancy profession! This particular session was held at the impressive Ritz Carlton Millenia Singapore.

With the conclusion of the ACCA/ICPAS Joint Examination Scheme, the Graduation Ceremonies were succeeded by the ACCA Members’ Achievement Evenings where we welcome newly qualified members and recognised members who have made significant milestones to a night of celebration and recognitions.

The recent Achievement Evenings include celebrating the occasion with newly qualified affiliates along with new members. Shifting away from formalities, the new events are even more social and engaging - emphasising on members’ connections and networking.
