FAQs on the end of the ACCA/ICPAS Joint Examination Scheme (JES)
-
1. I'm a member of both ACCA and ICPAS. Will the termination of JES affect me?
The end of the JES will not affect your ACCA membership. If you are currently an ICPAS (Associate) member or CPA Singapore member, the termination of the JES will not affect your ICPAS membership.
-
2. Will the ACCA designation still be valued in the workplace?
Yes, as a global professional accounting body with more than 100 years of history and experience behind us, we have built a recognisable brand and a solid reputation for producing a robust qualification and well prepared accountants for business.
In Singapore, we have developed and continue to develop good relationships with notable employers who value our members for their skills and ability.

3. ACCA currently has an MRA with ICPAS. How will these changes impact the MRA?
The JES agreement is separate from the MRA for members that ACCA has in place. The conditions of the MRA remain the same.
-
4. With the ACCA Qualification, can I practice as a public accountant?
Eligibility criteria for public accountants are determined by ACRA. At the moment there have been no changes to the criteria. Please visit the ACRA website for more details.
