Our flagship virtual conference Accounting for the Future is back for another year – from 21 to 23 November. We’ll be joined by a host of global experts to discuss some of the most pressing issues financial professionals are facing today.

Businesses continue to face the pressure of an uncertain and fast-changing economy. Technology has been evolving the way professional accountants work over a number of years, but the increased interest in the role of artificial intelligence, particularly generative AI, is setting a new pace for change.

The commitment to supporting sustainable businesses is also expanding. As society’s expectations on climate action increase and regulatory pressure to commit to net-zero emissions rises, organisations are increasingly looking to their finance function to support their sustainability agenda.

And the expectations and needs of employees are also continuing to evolve. From generational change, as Gen Z moves into the workforce, to skills shortages globally, the ways in which employers recruit, develop and support their team’s wellbeing are having to change.

That’s why the theme for this year’s conference is Climate, talent and tech: managing multiple priorities. Across three days, we’ll be diving into these issues in detail, to understand the experiences of finance professionals and how they’re adapting to this evolving landscape.

For example, in our session SMEs and SMPs: skills and innovation for the future our panel of small and medium practitioners will explore how businesses and their advisers can tackle these key challenges.

And we’ll be looking at the changes that could support recruitment for SMPs at sessions such as Global talent trends and Attraction and retention of accountants to the audit profession.

Looking ahead to next year, our expert economic panel – facilitated by the BBC’s economics editor, Faisal Islam – will consider the global business landscape and how the profession can prepare to navigate more turbulent economic conditions.

Accounting for the Future is free to attend, and you can access all of the sessions on demand after the event. You’ll also be able to gain up to 21 CPD units by attending.

So join us, along with hundreds of other members, for engaging and enjoyable learning and development, designed to keep you up to date with the tools and knowledge you need.
