We help people from all backgrounds and career stages to build a globally-recognised foundation in accounting, finance and business. For your apprentices, it’s the chance to earn as they learn. For you as an employer, it’s a cost-effective way of bringing vital skills and sharp thinking to your business that’s easier than you think.
Combining structured training from a third-party provider with on-the-job experience in a role that benefits your business, apprenticeships are a powerful and sustainable way of developing the talent you need.
How it works
First of all, you have some great choices to make:
Our apprenticeships are available at different levels. Typically, they’re around 12-36 months long, depending on which you choose and your business needs. We can talk you through the options and be on hand to guide you throughout the whole journey.
You’ll support your apprentice as you would any employee, giving them opportunities to put their developing skills and knowledge into practice. But the off-the-job training will come from your training provider, who’ll structure their learning and support you and your apprentice. Don’t worry, we can help with choosing a training provider too.
We can support with recruiting or identifying the right apprentice. It could be someone you hire specifically to meet your business needs or a current employee with untapped potential. Take a look at our recruiting an apprentice page.
What happens next
You can read our guide to setting up your apprenticeship, with everything explained in more detail, and here’s an overview of what happens after you’ve made your initial choices:
Funding and incentives are generous and vary by location and business size. Your training provider will know what you’re entitled to and arrange it all for you.
If you decide to recruit a new hire, your apprenticeship vacancy can be promoted on ACCA Careers - our market-leading job board that will help you attract top talent.
Quality and rigour are key here. That's why your training provider will review and train your apprentice to succeed in their exams, and work with you to help develop further skills, knowledge and behaviours on the job.
We’ll assess your apprentice, issue their qualification and arrange their official certification, where relevant. We can even suggest further qualifications too, depending on your business needs.
