ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) Hong Kong announced its newly elected Chairman, Vice Chairman and Committee Members for the term 2024/2025.

Stanley Ho was elected Chairman of ACCA Hong Kong for the term 2024/2025. Stanley is now a partner in KPMG’s Hong Kong Corporate Tax team, bringing extensive experience in handling taxation affairs for clients engaged in cross-border businesses, listed companies, multinational conglomerates, and international operations. Stanley said: ‘I am honoured to be elected as the new Chairman of the ACCA Hong Kong. This year marks two significant milestones for ACCA: its 120th anniversary and the global membership surpassing a quarter of a million. Next year, ACCA Hong Kong will also celebrate its 75th anniversary, and I look forward to commemorating this important occasion with our members. In the coming year, our focus will be on three key pillars: sustainability, artificial intelligence (AI) and talent development. Additionally, ACCA Hong Kong will strengthen its advocacy role and influence government policy to better support its members’ career prospects, promote the sustainable growth of the profession, and improve the livelihoods of the local community.’

Ho continued, ‘With a diverse global community of over 252,500 members, ACCA is well-positioned to leverage Hong Kong’s role as a super-connector and super-value-adder between China and international markets to unlock new opportunities for its members. ACCA Hong Kong will continue to enhance its collaboration with government bodies and deepen partnerships with other professional associations, broadening our members' perspectives. The accounting industry in Hong Kong boasts strong analytical skills, business acumen and communication skills – we have a solid base to tackle current challenges head-on.’

Besides, Wilson Cheng was elected Vice Chairman of ACCA Hong Kong. Wilson is now the Tax Leader of EY Hong Kong and Macao and has been practicing as a tax advisor for over 25 years.
