ACCA Singapore Annual Conference 2023
The in-person ACCA Singapore Annual Conference returned with a big bang post-pandemic in October to a sold-out audience. Making a break from the usual accountancy-themed topics, it instead focused on the broader issues that directly impact members and businesses. The conference was aptly titled: Conflicts | Climate | ChatGPT | Cost of Living

New Country Manager for ACCA Singapore
As Singapore re-opened after the pandemic. ACCA Singapore also welcomed Daniel Leung as the new Country Manager. As a fellow ACCA member, he immediately understood the needs and aspiration of members and brought in renewed focus for ACCA to innovate in membership engagement and partnerships.

ACCA Regional Education Conference
In the early part of 2020, before the pandemic, ACCA Singapore successfully hosted a Regional Education Conference at the Crowne Plaza that welcomed close to 200 educators from the region to discuss the future of education and learning.

International Public Sector Conference
ACCA Singapore hosted the ACCA International Public Sector Conference and welcomed delegates from all over the world to this global event in February 2018 at the One Farrer Hotel.

Relocation of ACCA Office to One Raffles Quay
To better serve the needs of members and to relocate its operations closer to the financial district, the office was relocated from its long-time address in Wisma Atria Orchard Road to One Raffles Quay at the Marina Bay area.

ACCA Gives Back to Senior Citizens
ACCA Singapore members raised funds and volunteered to bring 40 senior citizens from the Tanjong Pagar/Tiong Bahru district for a fun outing to ride the Singapore Flyer and the amphibious Duck Tours. Minister Indranee graced the event that also included a Dim Sum Lunch.

Singapore welcomes the global council to Singapore on its 80th Anniversary celebration.

Set up of ACCA Singapore Member Network Panel (MNP)
To better reflect the responsibilities of the member volunteers in playing an advisory and consultative role to support the function of the ACCA Singapore office, the ACCA Singapore MNP was set up to replace the Local Executive Committee. Amos Ng was the first Chair of the ACCA Singapore MNP

Start of new Joint-Pathway Programme with ISCA
With the conclusion of the ACCA-ICPAS Joint Examination Scheme after 30 years in 2013, ACCA continued to work with ISCA to attract accountancy talent by launching a new Joint-Pathway Programme in anticipation of a mutual recognition agreement to be eventually signed between ISCA and ACCA.

Renewal of the ACCA-ICPAS Joint Examination Scheme
The ACCA-ICPAS JES was renewed for another 5 years by ACCA President Gill Ball and ICPAS President Mr Tan Boen Eng.

Signing of ACCA-ICPAS MRA
ACCA and ICPAS signed a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) to have maximum transferability between the ACCA Qualification and the ICPAS Professional Examinations. The MRA was signed by Mr Allen Blewitt, ACCA Chief Executive and Mr Tan Boen Eng, President of ICPAS and witnessed by Dr Ernest Kan, Vice President of ICPAS and Ms Penelope Phoon, Country Head of ACCA Singapore

ACCA Centenary Celebration
ACCA Singapore celebrated our 100th birthday with a Gala Dinner at the Regent Hotel with Ms Lim Hwee Hua, the then Minister of State for Finance and Transport as our Guest of Honour.

Singapore Environmental Reporting Award (SERA)
ACCA Singapore championed sustainability reporting with the launch of the SERA in 2002. The award was ahead of its time and continued through until 2010

With our dedicated business development team in place, ACCA started engaging with employers to open up career opportunities for our members under the ACCA Approved Employers Programme.

First Singapore Country Head
ACCA appointed Mr John Miller as the first Country Head for ACCA Singapore. John was a trained lawyer and he also supported regional markets for ACCA including Indonesia and Thailand.

Opening of full-time ACCA Singapore office
After operating many years under the leadership of the ACCA Local Executive Committee, we invested in a full-time office at Orchard Road. The office only had a modest headcount of 4 staff when it first began

ACCA Local Executive Committee (LEC)
Don Ho became the President of the LEC with Peter Leong as Vice President. The LEC is an elected group of ACCA member volunteers serving and supporting members based in Singapore.

ACCA-ICPAS Joint Examination Scheme
ACCA started the JES with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (now ISCA) to offer a Singapore edition of the ACCA Qualification to groom professional accountants in Singapore.

In the UK, ACCA obtained statutory recognition under the Financial Services Act.
