We'd like your exam day to go as smoothly as possible. To give yourself the best chance of a successful exam experience, please follow our exam day related guidance we've provided below.
You should have downloaded both ACCA's exam software and ProctorU's remote invigilation software. Information on these steps can be found on our Exam preparation page
These include taking your exam in a private well-lit room for the full duration of the exam and only having items on your desk/workspace which are allowed. Remember, if you breach any of the exam regulations this may result in your exam being terminated so it's important to read through these in advance.
Check the exam regulations and guidelines
You will need to present your ID as proof of your identity in order to take the exam. The following forms of ID are accepted:
Other non exam-related applications running in the background are prohibited and risk interefering with the successful running of the exam. You can close these, by accessing Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) and ending these tasks.
The check-in and greeting process should take approximately 10 minutes. This time is not subtracted from the time you’re allowed in your exam.
Once you have carried out these check-in steps the invigilator will then greet you and then complete verification checks required to ensure you meet and accept the regulations, guidelines and terms and conditions of the exam.
During this process the invigilator will ask to take control of your mouse and keyboard in order to ensure your device to ensure no unauthorised applications are running on your device and will close any that should be open. You will be able to see everything that the invigilator is doing whilst this is being carried out.
Once the invigilator has carried out these checks they will return control of your device back you and you will be able to start your exam when you are ready.
You are only permitted to access the exam software during your exam and you'll be supervised by an invigilator throughout. For guidance on how to answer questions and use the features within the exam environment, please visit our Study support resources pages.
You'll be expected to adhere to all the rules and regulations of the exam for the entire duration of the exam. These include:
Alert your invigilator that you have finished using the chat box before submitting your exam attempt. The invigilator will ask you to tear up any scrap paper used during the exam before you leave the exam environment.
Your exam result will be shown on screen together with confirmation of whether your attempt at the exam has been successful. Please note that this result is provisional until it has been confirmed by ACCA via your Exam Results service. If you have access to a printer, you may print a copy of your provisional result notification upon completion of your exam.
After reviewing your results, your invigilator must observe you log out of the exam website and close all browser tabs.
You should then uninstall the ACCA Exam Software from your device following which you can close the ProctorU chat box. This will end your session with ProctorU.
Your results will be uploaded to ACCA’s server immediately on completion of the exam. ACCA will process your result and will update your student record to reflect your CBE result. Please allow 72 hours for your status to be updated.
