In this webinar Jonathan Ashworth, ACCA's chief economist, discusses the prospects for the global economy and key countries in 2025 – with Q&A at the end

Overview

Lagos cityscape

The global economy should continue to grow at a reasonable, but not particularly exciting pace in 2025. But it is a world marked by significant uncertainty, amid potential changes in US trade policy, a challenging geopolitical backdrop, heightened political uncertainty, and rising government bond yields.

Jonathan Ashworth, Chief Economist, ACCA

Jonathan joined ACCA following roles as a China economist at Fathom Consulting, and global and UK economist at Morgan Stanley, and has held economist/global macro strategy positions at Barclays Wealth. He has also worked as an economist in the Productivity & Structural Reform team at Her Majesty’s Treasury, where he did work on the famous ‘Five Tests’ of whether Britain should join the euro. He has a MA degree in Economics from Duke University and a First Class Honours degree in Economics from Hull University.
