BEPS 2.0 Pillar Two – updates from the OECD, Hong Kong and around the world

One of the four webinars covered in ACCA Hong Kong Tax Updates Series 2024

Overview

Inside a building

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Inclusive Framework has adopted a two-pillar solution to address challenges arising from the digitalization of the economy.  Pillar Two introduces a global minimum Effective Tax Rate (ETR) for multinational groups with consolidated revenue over €750m.  As Pillar Two became effective in jurisdictions on 1 January 2024, it is important for multinational groups to keep up to date on the Pillar Two development in the jurisdictions that they have operations in so that they are able to adhere to the different local compliance requirements and deadlines.

In this webinar, PwC’s Pillar Two specialists will provide an update on the latest guidance from the OECD on Pillar Two, the implementation status of Pillar Two in different jurisdictions, and share insights on the proposed Pillar Two rules in Hong Kong which is anticipated to be effective from 1 January 2025.

This webinar will cover the following:

  • Re-cap of the Pillar Two rules and updates from the OECD
  • Implementation status of the Pillar Two rules around the world
  • Latest development of the Pillar Two rules in Hong Kong
