This certificate is one of three, that are an integral part of the UAE Fellowship Programme.

The UAE Tax and Regulation Certificate is structured in an accessible and user-friendly way that underlines key information and provides useful summaries. It provides topic-by-topic exploration of specific articles, laws and decrees. There are a number of knowledge checks in each module allowing you to test your knowledge with as you progress through the course.

The UAE Tax and Regulation Certificate has been prepared for:

  • qualified accountants and auditors to ensure they are up to date with tax related developments in the UAE
  • accountants who qualified before the introduction of the UAE Corporate Tax law or who have been away from audit practice and want to ensure that their knowledge is up to date
  • those undertaking the UAE Fellowship Programme.
     

An educational or vocational background in audit is recommended before commencing the UAE Tax and Regulation Certificate.

The UAE Tax and Regulation Certificate offers an introduction to UAE legislation related to the practice of the accounting and auditing profession. This includes the rules of conduct and ethics of the profession, the corporate system, the tax system, and civil and criminal liability related to the practice of the profession. 

By completing this certificate you will:

  • understand the business environment and regulations of the UAE
  • be aware of existing legislation related to indirect tax, VAT, direct tax and the administration of taxes
  • know how to apply UAE anti-avoidance and anti-corruption legislation.
  • Self-paced interactive learning.
  • 24-month access.
  • The Certificate consists of seven modules in Part A and seven modules in Part B.
  • The Certificate has been designed for participants in the UAE Fellowship Programme.

Assessment:

  • The assessment will take two hours and consist of 70 online questions. 
  • The assessment will be conducted at a local assessment centre, in the UAE, under the supervision of the British Council.
  • When you purchase this version of the Tax and Regulation Certificate, you will receive unlimited attempts to complete the assessment. However, please note that there will be a local fee (currently AED 400) to access the assessment centre.
  • Following the assessment, candidates will not have access to copies of the questions and answers.
  • To facilitate speedy re-registration and allow for the possibility of retaking the assessment within the same exam session, unsuccessful attempts by learners will be removed from the system after seven days.  
  • No record will be retained of the scores obtained by unsuccessful candidates.
