The first ACCA–IMA global SME performance review covered the period between Q4 2011 and Q2 2013. The second covers the period between Q3 2013 and Q2 2014.
This second period saw a robust recovery for SMEs globally – a confirmation that the turning point in late 2012 did indeed mark the beginning of a nascent recovery as the first review had predicted. After lagging behind the wider economy in 2012 and early 2013, SMEs are now experiencing the benefits, with both business confidence and economic outlook improving dramatically.
