Overview
2024 has seen the inception of the global minimum tax rules under the OECD Pillar 2 programme. The session will look at how this will affect international tax matters in the coming years. In particular the session will look at the implications of the phased rollout of the rules.
Whichever political party wins the UK general election on the 4th July 2024, the taxation of non-UK domiciles is likely to change from the 6th April 2025. The session will look at the impact on globally mobile individuals who come to the UK.
Finally this session will look at the impact of the changes on permanent establishment rules as well as the significant economic presence rules will have on international tax planning.

Jeremy Mindell
Jeremy Mindell has been a tax practitioner and CTA for over 25 years. He was a Senior Manager with Deloitte before becoming an in-house tax specialist with AMP and then Henderson Global Investors. He has specialised in Direct Taxation since he first trained with the Big Four Firm.
He serves on the Worshipful Company of Tax Advisers’ committee, which assists the Lord Mayor in international tax advice for his overseas visits. He is known on the lecture circuit as an entertaining speaker who believes that an engaged audience retains more of value from even the driest of subjects.
Away from tax, Jeremy has a keen interest in history and lectures on a number of subjects, most notably on the American Civil War.
