Accelerate Program
What is the Accelerate program?
The ACCA Accelerate program is a scheme that allows outstanding students with an aspiration and commitment to begin their professional qualification journey with us before completing their degree at an Australian and New Zealand institution.
This not only gives you a competitive edge to an exciting career in accounting and finance, but also allows you to utilise your knowledge of professional and technical skills you learn in your ACCA qualification to enhance your employability and excel at job interviews.
Recognising the rigour and content of accounting degree programs in this region, students in the accelerate program receive conditional exemptions (check exemption calculator) and the opportunity to register and start your Strategic Professional level exams prior to graduation.
What are the benefits of the Accelerate program?
Eligible students will be able to access exclusive benefits such as:
- Discounted registration and exemption fee
- Waiver of subscription fee while studying at university (up to 2 years)
- Access to ACCA learning platform, Approved Learning Partners
- Subscription to Student Accountant Newsletter
- Access to ACCA events (global and local)
When should I start?
To start the ACCA accelerate program, you need to be confirmed in an accounting major. This would generally be in the second or third year of a Bachelor degree. For Master degree students, we recommend you starting only after your first or second semester, so you’re well settled into your degree before considering a professional qualification.
While ACCA does not specify any academic grades requirement, we suggest you consider the accelerate program only if you have a credit average and are excelling in your university subjects as the ACCA professional exams are more demanding than academic exams.
Students must not start a professional qualification at the expense of their degree. Testimonials from previous accelerate students indicate that doing a professional qualification complements their university studies and helped them better understand their learning.
Who can apply?
Our current list of Australian and New Zealand universities and programs are based on university achievements as well as demands from students and academics. Please check if your university is in the current approved list below. Universities not in the list can contact anzinfo@accaglobal.com to discuss your options.
How to apply?
Contact the ACCA Australia and New Zealand office at anzinfo@accaglobal.com for support on application to the accelerate program. Upon assessment of your eligibility, you will receive an authorisation letter (with a discount code) plus instructions to apply online.
Alternatively, you can speak with our Approved Learning Partners for assistance.
Can existing ACCA students apply for the accelerate program?
Unfortunately, you can no longer go through the accelerate program if you have signed up with ACCA prior either by yourself or through your institution. However, if you are still keen to start your strategic professional journey, you may be eligible to apply for conditional exemption if you are studying towards one of the approved programs in the list. Contact anzinfo@accaglobal.com to discuss your option.
