Education to Employment: bridging the gaps
20 November 2013
Sheesh Mahal I, Serena Hotel, Islamabad
Around the world, governments and businesses face a conundrum: high levels of youth unemployment and a shortage of job seekers with critical skills. These challenges are graver in developing countries including Pakistan which leads to pressing and crucial questions such as how can a country like Pakistan successfully move its young people from education to employment? What are the problems and gaps and how these gaps need to be bridged? Which interventions work? How can these be scaled up?
In an effort to respond the above questions and in line with our legacy, to work for the interest of the youth at large and finance profession in particular, ACCA Pakistan is organising an annual conference titled Education to Employment: bridging the gaps.
This conference will bring together expertise and provide a platform for the key stakeholders including education regulators, academia, business and industry to deliberate upon the issues and provide a way forward to improve the employment conditions. Through this event ACCA aims to contribute to forward the agenda of the profession, business and society at large.
The center pieces of the conference, around which the experts will deliberate and discuss, are as follows:
Education to employment: bridging the gaps
The e-professional: embracing learning technologies
Generation Y: realizing the potential
The conference will be attended by illuminated intellectuals, heads of institutes of higher learning, employers, youth and media.
