Under the terms of recognition agreed between ACCA and ICPAB, who is eligible to apply for membership of ACCA?

ICPAB members are eligible to apply for ACCA membership if the following requirements have been met:

  • Successful completion of the ICPAB Program of Professional Studies and Examinations and fully met the ICPAB practical experience requirements;
  • Entered onto the Commission for Public Oversight of Statutory Auditors (CPOSA) register of Registered Auditors;
  • Completed ACCA's UK variant examinations for Coporate Law (LW) and Taxation (TX);
  • Be able to satisfy the ACCA Admissions and Licensing Committee as to their general character and suitability.

What are the ACCA examination requirements?

Applicants must successfully complete the UK variants of the Corporate and Business Law (LW) and the Taxation (TX) examinations. Exams are conducted in English. Applicants may be eligible for exemption from the Corporate and Business Law (LW) and the Taxation (TX) examinations if they have passed acceptable tax and law courses from a recognised institution in the UK.

What documents do ICPAB members need to apply for ACCA membership?

ICPAB members must submit the following documentary evidence to ACCA in order to demonstrate that the ACCA membership requirements have been met:  

  • Completed Direct Membership Application form
  • A letter of good standing from ICPAB that confirms the following: 
    • The candidate is a full ICPAB member in good standing
    • The candidate has completed the ICPAB Program of Professional Studies and Examinations and satisfied the ICPAB practical experience requirements
    • The candidate’s date of admission to ICPAB membership
    • The candidate has no disciplinary or regulatory actions pending or on file 
    • The ICPAB member is entered into the Commission for Public Oversight of Statutory Auditors (CPOSA) register of Registered Auditors
  • Two identical passport-sized photographs - maximum size: 60mm x 50mm, both of which must have their full name and signature on the reverse.
