Introduction
Working with our membership, we have dedicated these pages to include information and resources for those enterprising members, affiliates and students who are interested in learning more about migrating to the USA.
If you are planning to relocate to the USA or you have moved here already, please contact ACCA North America at north.america@accaglobal.com for additional resources. We would be pleased to provide you with an ‘ACCA North America Orientation Guide’.
The United States of America has a long and varied history as a cultural and economic leader and attracts many people of talent and diversity every year.
ACCA is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1904. ACCA USA was formally established in California in 1987. We act as an advocate on behalf of our membership and provide opportunities for continuing professional development. Today, ACCA USA is ACCA North America, comprised of Canada and the USA. This small, dedicated team is based across North America while members are concentrated into 11 chapters throughout the United States. Our market is composed almost entirely of expatriates from various countries where ACCA is one of the market-leading qualifications.
While ACCA is indeed a global passport to a career in finance and accounting, many members find that the ACCA qualification may not be as visible within the United States as their home country. Our members work in a variety of public and private industries and many seek one of the national qualifications – US CPA and CMA or a speciality qualification such as ABFA.
Migrating to the USA and finding employment that takes advantage of your hard-earned qualification will take effort but can also be extremely rewarding. Many of our members already work with a multi-national company and are able to transfer within their company while others seek employment with the Big Four.
There are many roads to success, but it will take the same determination and application that you used to obtain your qualification. ACCA North America is always working to bring larger recognition to the ACCA qualification but there is always more to do.
These resources were developed with you in mind after consulting with many recently migrated members. If you are unable to find the answer to your question within these pages, please contact us at north.america@accaglobal.com.
